Barny is experienced in dealing with disputed Wills on the grounds of lack of testamentary capacity, undue influence, lack of knowledge and approval, fraud and failure to execute a Will correctly; disputes concerning the provisions (or lack thereof) in Wills; proprietary estoppel claims (promises made during a testator’s lifetime, but not made good in their Wills); trust disputes; and claims concerning the administration of Estates, including professional negligence.

He is also a member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists.

Continuing ILM’s series of free workshops, this session will focus on A Practical Approach to Negotiation & Mediation and will address the following key areas:

  1. Alternative Dispute Resolution – why and when should I consider negotiation or mediation?
  2. Approaches to negotiation – what do I want to achieve and how do I do this?
  3. Mediation – what is it?
  4. Mediation conduct – exploring strategies to maximise the effectiveness of a mediation
  5. Negotiation and mediation ‘dos and don’ts’/top tips

We will also conduct a mediation exercise so participants will get a practical insight into the issues, challenges and possible solutions that can arise in the context of a mediation.
