Speakers

Lisa Mark-Bell, Freeths
Lisa deals with the administration of all types of taxable and non taxable estates including those with an agricultural, business or international element. She also advises on Wills, estate planning, lifetime settlements and Will trusts, lasting powers of attorney and tax planning for a wide range of clients.

Lisa trained at Pryce & Co, qualified in 2007 and joined the firm in the same year. Lisa is a member of Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP).


Description

This course, led by Lisa and the Freeths team will look at areas including:

  • The new residential nil rate band (‘RNRB’)  – the basics and the interaction with existing nil rate bands
  • Settlement Agreements and Tax – the circumstances in which a settlement agreement will be “read back” into the Will for tax purposes and tricks and traps to watch out for.
  • Income tax in trusts and estates  – general principles and the implications for executors and trustees of the changes to dividend taxation
