New to the charity sector, or just want to know more about how charities work? This short course looks at the regulations charities must adhere to, the role of the charity commission and the relationships between Trustees and staff.

Having received feedback from ILM members that this would be a useful learning resource, the short course has been specially designed for people who are new to the charity sector, or those who want to brush up on their knowledge of the sector.

About the speaker

An engaging and charismatic speaker, Robin Osterley is Chief Executive of the Charity Retail Association, and has been involved in the third sector for over thirty years, during which time he has run a charity, a co-operative and a company limited by guarantee, as well having been a trustee of several other organisations.

Testimonials from ILM members:

  • “Robin was great and seemed happy to discuss and interact at all points”
  • I feel the course is a brilliant starter to the charity world for someone coming in from outside. I would have been very grateful if this had been available when I joined the sector.”
  • “I really liked this course as an overall summary of all things charity!”
