High fives – charities can make an award nomination for free!

May 26, 2023

Celebrate the law firm that’s achieved the best possible result for your charity by nominating it for this year’s Today’s Wills and Probate Awards.

From 11am on Friday 26 May, the first five ILM charity members who jump online to make a nomination for Charity Legacy Probate Collaboration of the Year may do so absolutely free of charge. Entries usually cost £169 (+VAT).

The category is sponsored by the ILM and CEO Matthew Lagden said: “We know there are law firms out there who have worked tirelessly to resolve issues for charities and ensure that they receive the legacies they were due.

“We thought it would be a super idea to celebrate their work and encourage ILM member charities to say thank you, by entering them into the awards without it costing the charity a penny. Special thanks must go to the team at TW&P for their help in making this possible.”

To benefit from the free entry, all the charities need to do is to put ‘ILM member’ in the free text box which asks, ‘How did you hear about the awards’.

Gavin Holt, Head of Charity Estate Administration at Foot Anstey, said: “The British Wills & Probate Awards really have become the ‘Oscars’ of the industry and we were thrilled to pick up Highly Commended in the Charity Legacy Probate Collaboration category in 2022.

“The awards are well known and respected and it is wonderful to have our success highlighted which gives us a boost in both the client and recruitment markets. We have such a fantastic team here, and their commitment to the charity sector is so impressive. We tell them this all the time, but it’s been lovely to have the external recognition to share with them and to show that the work they do every day really does make a positive difference.”

Organised by Today’s Wills & Probate and now in their sixth year, the awards are highly regarded within the legal calendar and culminate in a glittering gala dinner on 11 October. Entries close on 7 July and finalised submissions must be completed by 14 July.
