ILM Annual Awards – Nominations Open until 20th March 2026
January 26, 2026
We are delighted to announce that applications are open for the ILM Awards 2026.
Let us know who you think deserves to win Legacy Professional of the Year and ILM Mentor of the Year.
LEGACY PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR 2026
This year we have once again aligned the award with the ILM mission and values, and you may nominate either yourself or a colleague in the legacy management sector who you think reflects these values and deserves to be recognised. We really want to hear about people who have taken that extra step to support their team, who champion equality and diversity, listen to others and work collaboratively to get things done.
Nomination Criteria:
- Only ILM members can nominate, and nominees must also be members.
- You cannot nominate ILM Directors or staff, and neither can ILM Directors or staff make a nomination.
- The nominee needs to reflect one or more of the ILM values – ambitious, collaborative, knowledgeable, kind – you can read more about these here.
- Nominations open on Monday 26th January and all nominations must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 20th March 2026.

ILM MENTOR OF THE YEAR 2026
If you have you benefitted from working with a mentor, perhaps during your CiCLA or Diploma studies over the past year, now is your chance to acknowledge this support and give a big shout out to someone who has really made a difference.
Or perhaps you would you like to show your appreciation to the person who has provided you with exceptional support as an ILM member with more general support? This doesn’t have to be related to a qualification.
If this sounds like you, and you want your mentor to gain recognition, simply complete this brief nomination form. Nominations open on Monday 26th January and all nominations must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 20th March 2026.
Nomination Criteria:
You will be asked to include:
- The name and organisation of your mentor; which year your mentoring started; whether the mentoring process is still happening or how long the relationship was for.
- Most importantly, you will be asked to write a brief summary of why you feel your mentor should be presented with this award.
- Your mentor must be an ILM charity member.
Nominations open on 26th January 2026 and the deadline for receipt of all applications is 5pm on Friday 20th March 2026 (* the winner of each award will be selected anonymously).
This year’s winners will be announced at the ILM Annual Conference on 8th May 2026.
