ILM appoints new CEO

July 18, 2018

The ILM Board is pleased to announce that Matthew Lagden has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Legacy Management, taking over from Chris Millward.

With many years’ experience in fundraising and legacies, Matthew has most recently worked as Director of Fundraising at St Paul’s Cathedral, and prior to joining St Paul’s, Matthew worked for a number of major charities including Action for Children, the Stroke Association and the British Heart Foundation.

Matthew said: “I am delighted to be joining ILM as the new Chief Executive. I joined ILM back in 2001 as a Legacy Officer, and it is a great privilege to be coming back and helping to shape the future of the organisation.

“I would like to thank Chris for all his hard work over the past few years, and I hope that I can continue to build on the firm foundations that he has laid.”

Maria King, chair of the ILM, said: “Matthew brings with him a huge amount of expertise and fresh thinking that will help the ILM develop its next organisational strategy. We’re thrilled to have him on board.

“We would like to thank Chris for his outstanding contribution to the ILM and wish him all the best for the future.”
