Supporting our members during the crisis

June 8, 2020

As a membership organisation for the charity and not-for-profit sector, it is of course an absolute priority for us to support our members’ needs at all times.

As soon as lockdown began and our members found themselves working from home full time, we launched our COVID-19 resources hub, which is full of useful information and articles and is being added to on a regular basis. We have also been lucky enough to have articles written for us by some of our member charities on the ways in which they have dealt with different aspects of the crisis. We have also had the lowdown on the ways the crisis is affecting legacies in both Spain and Scotland. All these articles can be found on our news pages.

We also increased the frequency of our member e-newsletter from monthly to weekly to ensure that our members were kept completely up-to-date with all changes and issues that would affect them during these strange times.

Viewing Room

As we found ourselves no longer able to offer face-to-face training or seminars for our members, we launched a programme of regular free webinars featuring expert speakers. The webinars have included a range of topics, often relating to the COVID-19 crisis and the impact this is having on legacies and the work our members carry out. These events have been extremely well-attended and the feedback has been consistently positive. We intend to continue running these events, for free, for our members for as long as they are needed. This will be supplemented by a range of webinars and training events on more specialist topics such as property and contentious probate.

As we were unable to hold our annual conference this year, we held a virtual conference which was attended by 250 members and partners. Due to the success of this event, we intend to hold an autumn conference later this year.

All webinar recordings are also added to our newly-created Viewing Room which can be accessed via the members’ section of the website, so members can view the videos at their own leisure. Our corporate partners have also been providing videos for our members which are also available for viewing in the Viewing Room
