The ILM and Remember A Charity will give evidence to Parliament

March 8, 2024

The ILM will be represented in Parliament next week, answering questions about the impact probate delays have had on our members.

Dave Hawes, the ILM’s finance board member, who is also finance director of Devon Air Ambulance, will be joined by Alex McDowell, a board member at Remember a Charity and director of fundraising at The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. There will also be a representative of CRUK.

The invitation to participate in the verbal evidence session dealing with charities, follows the recent submissions made by both organisations to the Justice Select Committee enquiry into the Probate System. Tuesday’s session, which is expected to last two hours, will see the charity panel quizzed about probate delays and give them the chance to set out what they see as the future of the service.

A more detailed update will be provided after the evidence session.

The Probate Registry will be hosting an online webinar for charities on the 25th of March at 11:30 am.
